Agribusiness Sales (Leawood)


Summary

This position will play an integral role the growth of Cline Wood, a Marsh & McLennan Agency, and exists to solicit new business and retain existing business by selling the Company’s products to customers in an “outside sales” environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prospects for new customers through referrals, business organizations, cold calling on businesses and market research.
  • Contacts potential customers by telephone, mail and in person to schedule appointments to discuss insurance needs.
  • Identifies customer needs and the appropriate product(s) to meet customer needs.
  • Develops programs and proposals to meet customer needs. Prepares and gives presentations to customers on products, benefits, and pricing.
  • Completes applications and obtains various information to secure insurance quote(s).
  • Conducts service calls on existing customers, assists customers with claims processing and provides answers to questions regarding policy coverage, payment of invoices, or related service issues.
  • Ensures that customers are satisfied with products and service through continual customer contact, relationship building, and identification of new or revised products to meet customer needs.
  • Communicates regularly with Account Managers and Account Executives to develop proposals and resolve customer issues.
  • Assist in the orientation/training of sales trainees by training on products, territories & sales technique if requested by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; preference given to field of study in agribusiness or related area.
  • At least two years business-to-business sales/business development experience preferred. A solid, successful track record evidencing exceptional levels of sales achievement surpasses all other requirements/qualifications.
  • Knowledge of P&C insurance concepts (Property, Liability, Worker’s Compensation, Umbrella, etc.)
  • An inclination towards building customer relationships, leadership, and successful management of the business development process.
  • The ability to identify customer needs, develop proposals and sell products, along with the ability to develop in-depth knowledge of Agency’s products.
  • The ability to obtain a Property and Casualty license required for state of business and fulfill continuing education requirements to retain the license.

Preference will be given to candidates with the following attributes:

  • Knowledge of crop and livestock production agriculture and the industries which service them.

Summary

Provide consulting services and advise clients in matters relating to their risk mitigation needs such as current market trends and short/long term planning to meet client goals and/or objectives. Manage the retention of assigned accounts and achieve new business goals as set forth by individual and agency plans.

Essential Functions:

New Business Development

  • Define an industry focus (major/minor) supporting the growth areas of the office.
  • Identify through personal research prospects that meet the agency’s ideal client profile.

Client Service / Retention

  • Support sales efforts by adhering to department operations and providing timely and accurate prospects data to track and monitor activities for management reporting and sales forecasts.
  • Ensure timeframes and deliverables are met in the sales process; and ensure that post-sales teams provide quality service to all assigned clients.
  • Transition new accounts to the client team seamlessly.

We are currently seeking an individual to join our Keystone team as a Client Executive. In this position, the Client Executive will display a high-level of technical expertise servicing an existing book of business, marketing and placing new and renewal business, and providing excellent customer service to clients, carriers and peers. The Client Executive will work closely with the producer and service team providing leadership and support.

Responsibilities include: monitoring renewals, preparing submissions, negotiation and placement of accounts with carriers, issuing binders and supporting documents, attending business and solution fit presentations, assisting in the proposal presentation, completing coverage checklist and reviewing policies for accuracy. In addition, the Client Executive will keep up-to-date on current industry and marketing trends and legislation.

Other qualifications are as follows:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; college degree is preferred.

Client Executive - Benefits (Minneapolis)


Summary

The Client Executive will work closely with producers and clients to develop effective employee benefit strategies and programs. Responsibilities include serving as the primary internal point of contact and will work closely with assigned clients to form effective business relationships through proactive client service, managing renewals, and ongoing problem resolution.

Essential Functions:

PROACTIVE CLIENT SERVICE

      • Develop effective business relationships with assigned clients in conjunction with producer through in-person visits, entertainment opportunities, telephone and electronic contact at multiple levels within client organization.
      • Act as primary contact for all day-to day service issues and other inquiries for all assigned clients; act as liaison between client and vendors/carriers to resolve issues and identify process improvement opportunities.
      • Manage client PREVENT Service Plan with corresponding activities and deliverables in conjunction with producer.
      • Review internal compliance and client disclosure requirements, external vendor/carrier contracts, summary plan documents (SPD's) and employee communications to ensure alignment with client expectations and legal requirements in conjunction with producer.
      • Develop strong understanding of health & welfare benefit products, services, technical tools, and vendor/carrier markets. Includes developing relationships with vendors/carriers in order to understand and compare products and services being offered and recommend solutions to clients.
      • Perform claims and utilization analysis to look for trends and patterns; may involve use of Decision Master Warehouse and actuarial tools to develop claims projections, set rates and model employee cost-sharing scenarios in conjunction with producer and Health Management Consultant.
      • Request Schedule A information and coordinate the preparation of Form 5500 filing. Manage implementation of new business. Oversee implementation project plan and facilitate internal/external resources, communications and meetings.
      • Conduct employee communication meetings when appropriate.

MANAGING CLIENT RENEWALS/MARKETING

      • Analyze carrier reports, benefit plan structures, plan design and industry trends and make appropriate benefit plan recommendations in conjunction with producer.
      • Prepare client renewals and negotiate rates with carriers in conjunction with producer, and present alternate benefit options when appropriate.
      • Conduct marketing of benefit plans when necessary; negotiate rates with carriers in conjunction with producer, and present alternate benefit options when appropriate.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; in-depth working knowledge of employee benefit plans with 3+ years of industry experience and demonstrated relationship management skills with 2+ years of client management responsibilities. Experience managing, implementing and renewing small and large group health & welfare plans including medical, dental, ancillary, FSA and COBRA plans. Working knowledge of ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, and other state and federal employee benefit regulations. Basic understanding of the key challenges in employee benefits plans and current health care trends. Ability to coordinate multiple projects while ensuring timely and accurate client deliverables, with effective problem solving and resolution skills. Strong organizational, project planning and management, analytical and multi-tasking skills. Excellent client relationship building and presentation skills. Summary

The Sales Intern will be responsible for learning and developing tangible skills in the area of Insurance and Risk Management. Summary

Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA) is currently looking for summer interns to join both our Minneapolis and Duluth teams. This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to get exposure to not only business and the insurance industry, but be part of a strong, collaborative and innovative team. The interns will be part of MMA’s culture – driven, innovative and collaborate.

MMA interns will learn to apply the concepts learned in the classroom to actual projects and will develop professional skills applicable to the business environment. Marsh & McLennan Agency is looking for a detail-oriented, can-do individual to join our Administration team. This part time role will work approximately 10 hours per week during our core business hours, and will assist the team with timely and accurate processing of all incoming and outgoing mail, including the front-end scanning of documents.

The Mailroom Assistant will also provide administrative support to the Administrative and Facilities Coordinator and other departments as appropriate.

Success in this role requires: 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to navigate computer systems and operate mailroom equipment.
  • Good communication skills,  both verbal and written
