Marsh & McLennan Agency Donates $300,000 to Three Twin Cities Charities

Six-Year Event Donation Total Surpasses $1.3 million

That sum represents a 13.4% increase over 2014’s total donations aggregated and given to Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, College Possible, and St. David’s Center for Child & Family Development. It’s also more than two and a half times the amount collected and donated in its inaugural effort in 2010.

Since 2010, Marsh & McLennan Agency’s Minneapolis executives and employees have asked the insurance companies it represents, business vendors, clients, and MMA colleagues to donate to its selected charities. MMA then adds an additional 30% to all donations. Over six years, the event has raised and given more than $1.3 million to these three charities.

“The level of generosity our business partners, carriers, clients, and colleagues exhibit during this event continues to grow and never ceases to inspire us,” said Tim Fleming, president of MMA’s Minneapolis operations. “Especially during this holiday season, we’re grateful for their help as we combine efforts to provide much-needed assistance to others in our community in need.”

Of the 21 insurance companies contributing, the two largest donors were Travelers and Liberty Mutual, which have both been significant financial supporters of the Charity Challenge since its inception. Other major supporters this year were Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, CNA, Hanover Insurance Group, SFM, and Westfield Insurance.
