Marsh & McLennan Agency's Minneapolis Office Named a Finalist in 2014 Community Impact Awards

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 20, 2013--Minnesota Business magazine named Marsh & McLennan Agency’s Minneapolis office as a finalist for its 2014 Community Impact Awards. It is one of three contenders for the Best in Class: Midsize award granted to employers and leaders that exhibit a strong history of making a positive difference in the community by supporting nonprofits or causes.

MMA was named a finalist for the 2014 Minnesota Business magazine Community Impact Award.

Winners will be named Feb. 27 at an awards event in Minneapolis.

Since 2012, the MMA office has raised and donated more than $750,000 to College Possible and the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota through its capstone philanthropic event—its annual Charity Challenge fund drive. Additionally, the company and its employees support 40 nonprofits annually.

“Supporting the communities in which we work has always been important to us, both locally in Minnesota and at the national level,” said Bill Jeatran, chief executive officer of MMA’s upper Midwest region. “With the help of our amazing insurance company partners, this effort helps support children and families when they need it most.”

The 2013 Charity Challenge event supported more than 700 underprivileged youth during their freshmen year at college through College Possible and funded a private neonatal intensive care unit, four private rooms and a lactation consult room in the Mother-Baby Center at Children’s.
