OSHA will no Longer Enforce Recording of Vaccine Reactions

May 26, 2021

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has removed language from its website that required employers with mandatory vaccine programs to record worker reactions to vaccinations on their OSHA recordkeeping logs.

In an attempt not to “disincentive employers’ vaccination efforts”, the agency will not enforce recording requirements relating to worker side effects from COVID-19 vaccinations through May 2022. OSHA will re-evaluate this position before that date to determine next steps.

OSHA is also reviewing mask guidelines due to recent changes in the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) mandate.
