1. Three Month Delay
In response to an abundance of concerns raised by the business community and organized labor, last night Governor Baker and the Massachusetts legislative leadership announced that there would be a 3-month delay in the July 1, 2019 start date for the Massachusetts Paid Family Leave Act. At this time, we are waiting for the Massachusetts legislature to amend c. 175M with a new start date and will follow up with you when the state releases new information about the implementation time line.
