Kerry Leider advises and represents public and private school entities, focusing his work in strategic and effective loss control strategy, risk assessment, and cost reduction methods.
Kerry has extensive experience working with mid to large school districts in areas
of accident prevention, loss control, insurance procurement, and injured employee return to work strategies. He has spoken at numerous seminars on many topics including, risk
management, school construction planning, school maintenance staffing, effective professional service and construction agreements, facilities strategic planning and construction project implementation.
Prior to joining the Marsh & McLennan Agency as a Risk Consultant, Kerry worked 23 years as the Property & Risk Manager for the Duluth Public School District in Minnesota. Kerry has managed almost $365 Million of new construction, major repair and renovation projects. He was responsible for a department of 80 staff who performed construction,
maintenance and daily operations of all school facilities. His responsibilities included managing an $8.4 million general fund budget. At Duluth Schools Kerry oversaw the district’s health, safety and environmental management programs.
Prior to working for Duluth Schools Kerry was the health and safety program and finance specialist for the Minnesota Department of Education and was involved in the drafting of state legislation related to those programs. Kerry has served on the Board of Directors
for the Minnesota Association of School Business Officials and is involved in the planning of professional development for the Association. He is an active member and Past President of Duluth Harbortown Rotary Club. He served a Director on the Duluth Steam Board. He is a graduate of Duluth Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Duluth programs and served 8 years on the planning and steering committee for that program.
