Pete Walther is the Private Client Practice Leader for Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA). Pete is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in finance and risk management leadership roles. Pete has a passion for transforming businesses, building unique and superior client experiences, and developing talent. He is committed to leading the Private Client practice in delivering industry-leading personal insurance advice, solutions, service, and advocacy to address the increasingly complex risk exposures of affluent individuals and families.
Beginning his career in banking, Pete spent seven years structuring and managing a senior debt portfolio of highly leveraged commercial clients. He joined Marsh in 1995 to help launch its Private Equity and Mergers & Acquisitions (PEMA) practice. Over the next 15 years, he would go on to lead several businesses within the firm including PEMA North America, Global Alternative Risk Solutions, Marsh Midwest Zone, and PEMA Asia-Pacific out of Australia. He spent nine years in Australia including a two-year turnaround role as CEO of the country’s largest network of independent wealth advisors, where he made his transition to the consumer side of finance and risk management, working closely with the wealth accumulator, mass affluent, and high-net-worth segments. In 2016, Pete returned to the US to lead Marsh Private Client Services.
Pete received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Hofstra University with a focus in banking and finance.
