About this Seminar

Supervisors will understand their role and responsibilities in fostering a drug-free workplace. Learn how to identify performance problems and handle potential crisis situations. Understand how to recognize problems, when to test, legal responsibilities, and how to reintegrate employees into the workplace following treatment. 

At the end of the training, supervisors will understand: 

  • The different components of the Drug-Free Workplace Policy
  • DOT mandated drug & alcohol testing regulations
  • Their role in implementing the Drug-Free Workplace Policy 

At the end of the training, supervisors should know how to:

  • Identify and investigate crisis situations 
  • Recognize workplace problems that may be related to employee use of alcohol and other drugs
  • Intervene in problem situations   
  • Refer employees who have problems with alcohol and other drugs
  • Protect employee confidentiality
  • Continue to supervise employees who have been referred to assistance related to problems with alcohol and other drugs
  • Avoid enabling and common supervisor traps
