The past two years have been confusing when it comes to health and welfare compliance. You may have asked yourself questions about what rules apply and when—and found the answers hard to come by.
Fortunately, we’re here to help.
In September 2024, federal agencies published their final regulations applicable to non-quantitative treatment limitations (NQTLs) under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act. At a high level, these are limitations affecting mental health and/or substance use disorder benefits that are not financial or visit limits (e.g., prior authorization requirements and medically necessary standards).
The regulations have two phase-in effective dates for employer-provided group health coverage:
- Rules applicable to plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2025; and
- Additional rules applicable to plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2026.
This webinar will address:
- The rules taking effect for the 2025 and 2026 plan years, including changes to the parity standards for NQTLs and the dreaded NQTL comparative analysis requirement;
- Who bears the responsibility for fully insured and self-insured coverage and expected plan administration changes and/or recommendations for the 2025 and 2026 plan years; and
- Expected future guidance.
This webinar is intended for HR professionals and anyone involved in managing group health plans and is most significant for employers sponsoring self-insured medical/Rx plans.
