Dr. Monte Masten is featured in Human Resource Executive
According to Marsh McLennan Agency’s 2024 Employee Health & Benefits Trends report, millennials have the highest prevalence of depression, anxiety, and ADHD. On top of that, they have the second lowest primary care physician (PCP) utilization rate and highest rate of urgent care visits. This indicates a lack of preventative care and a potential opportunity for employers to minimize costs.
Human Resource Executive recently interviewed Dr. Monte Masten, chief medical officer at Marsh McLennan Agency, about the generational differences in health care utilization rates. He also gives strategies HR leaders can use to encourage employees to use less costly preventive care services.
“We’ve seen a lot of increase in telemedicine in the younger generations. They have grown up with this technology and are more used to that and find it more available for their needs,” said Dr. Masten.
