HR Brew features Marsh McLennan Agency’s EH&B Trends report

There are three key themes that will shape benefits this year: better benefits and better talent, whole-person health, and health care economics, according to Marsh McLennan Agency’s (MMA) 2024 Employee Health and Benefits Trends report.

Chief medical officer at MMA Dr. Monte Masten spoke with HR Brew about the report's findings. In particular, he discussed the data that indicates younger generations of employees, Gen Z and millennials, are using preventive care services less than their older counterparts, Gen X and baby boomers. This results in higher utilization of more costly emergency services.

“If otherwise young, healthy employees don’t invest in PCP relationships, but then start struggling with mental health issues, they might end up in the ER,” said Dr. Masten.
