Amidst the rising usage of GLP-1 drugs for weight loss rather than medical conditions, many employers are at a crossroads of when to cover the costly drugs for employees.

Kate Moher, president of employee health and benefits at Marsh McLennan Agency, sat down with Minneapolis’ KSTP. They discussed the employers' balancing act when deciding whether to cover the cost of the drug–and for whom within their population.

“I think as an employer if you care about your employees, you’re going to do the best you can to cover what they need. But there is affordability. It’s a fine balance,” said Kate.
