MMA adds national expertise to address complex claims

MMA announced today that John Niedernhofer has been named the National Complex Claims Leader for the firm. In this newly created role, John will provide support and expertise to local claims teams navigating large or complex claims scenarios. As claims severity and litigation trends continue to climb, along with the time and resources needed to address them, this new leadership role will be focused on seeking fair and timely claims resolution between clients and insurers.

Prior to this appointment, John was the Business Insurance Managing Director for MMA’s West region, and has over 30 years’ experience in various insurance and risk management roles within the industry including, General Counsel, claims department manager, and coverage litigation consultant. Over his career, John has demonstrated a unique ability to find creative solutions to solve difficult client problems, while maintaining strong carrier relationships.

“The creation of the National Complex Claims role stemmed from a desire to continue to invest in expertise and value-added resources that benefit our clients,” commented MMA President, Bill Jeatran.  “John’s significant tenure in this space and his ability to understand and negotiate meaningful resolutions is a win-win for MMA clients and our carrier partners.”

John is based in San Diego, California and will report to Denise Perlman, Executive Vice President of Business Insurance & National Partnerships.
