Alabama is one of the latest states to enact legislation aimed at regulating pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) with Senate Bill 252 (SB 252). Known as "The Community Pharmacy Relief Act," most provisions of SB 252 took effect immediately upon enactment on April 15, 2025, and will have at least some impact on group health plans that provide prescription drug coverage to Alabama residents.
